Location: Coatbridge, Scotland

 

Key responsibilities and duties for this position:

– Lead the annual audit, prepare and finalise company tax documents (VAT Return, Corporation Tax, Personal Tax etc) and advise management on taxation matters

– Responsible for maintenance of accurate and timely accounting records sufficient to comply with internal and external reporting purposes

– Conduct quarterly VAT submissions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and deadlines

– Prepare and submit annual accounts and financial statements, working closely with external auditors and liaising with external accountants / HMRC as needed

– Oversee all day-to-day accounting activities within all depots

– Responsible for monthly review of Aged Debtors and Creditors and follow up outstanding balances as required

– Management of team – Review of work, conducting reviews, creating development plans, distribution of work, daily support

– Implement and own financial and operational KPI’s and project-related reporting for our business.

– Elaborate the internal audit and control framework

– Support the elaboration of the FP&A activities, analysing forecasting models and identifying opportunities and risks

– Drive the adoption of new technologies and process improvements within the finance department to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations

– Any other ad hoc duties

 

What we expect from you:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

– Must be fully ACA/CA/ACCA qualified

– Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a finance leadership role within construction industry

– Demonstrate a depth of knowledge in accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and tax regulations

– An understanding of the importance of governance, audit and compliance

– Experience working with accounting software, ideally SAP

– Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing tax returns and financial statements

– Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills

– Valid full UK driving licence is preferable
