First SANY telehander delivered in Scotland
TSL Contractors Ltd, a construction and civil engineering company based in the west of Scotland has taken delivery of its first SANY 18m STH1840 telehandler, purchased primarily to support its house building division with the erection of timber frame kits.
The telehandler was one of two machines launched by SANY earlier this year and offers a comprehensive solution for material handling tasks across a wide range of applications. Whether it’s lifting heavy loads or efficiently manoeuvring materials on construction sites, the telehandlers are engineered to excel in diverse working environments. Powered by a Stage V Deutz engine, the STH1840 has a load capacity of 4,000kg to a lifting height of up to 18m, offers three selectable steering modes (two wheel, four wheel and crab) and can be fitted with a variety of attachments to tackle a versatile range of tasks.
Enhanced safety features are already included ex-works on both models in the new range. A load management system monitors the load of the machine to prevent instability and when carrying loads will limit speeds for safety and improved load retention. Also included is a reversing camera with distance sensor, a safety switch that prevents any vehicle movement when the operator is not seated, as well as hose burst safety check valves fitted on all lift cylinders. The option of screen and roof guards is also available to protect the cabin glass.
“Having first seen the new telehandler at ScotPlant in April, the team at TSL were impressed from the outset with the internal layout of the machine and in particular the state-of-the-art safety related technology installed as standard”commented Robert Forbes, Head of Operations for TSL Contractors Ltd. “The impressive machine specification, price and warranty terms all influenced our decision to invest and we are delighted to have now introduced the SANY telehandler to our fleet. The machine is performing well since it arrived and the feedback from our operators has been very positive”.
TSL Contractors was established in 1979. Originally a quarrying company on the Isle of Mull, they now operate from three locations in Mull, Oban, Fort William and have expanded their services to include building, civil engineering, construction, utilities, and even aerial lifting thanks to a fleet of helicopters that operate under the Skyhook branding.
